Management Overview

Anthony Tennyson
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Mr. Cesar Johnston joined Energous in July 2014 and serves as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer.
Cesar is a seasoned technologist, entrepreneur, and investor. Prior to Energous, Cesar has had a broad experience in large enterprises and startups. He has previously served as Vice President of Engineering for Wireless Connectivity at Marvell Semiconductor. During his time with Marvell, Cesar led Marvell’s worldwide R&D and development of all Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM, and NFC products. Prior to Marvell, Cesar drove technology innovation at Broadcom responsible for 802.11g and 802.11n products.
Cesar has over 20 years of experience working across hardware, software, and services and is recognized as a pioneer in the technology development of multiple first-of generations of SISO and MIMO wireless products. He serves on the CTO Council for the Global Semiconductor Alliance, is an IEEE Senior Member, and is an advisory board member to KINS Technology Group. He also has written over 40 conference and journal papers and holds 26 patents.
Cesar holds a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering and holds a Certificate of Business Excellence (COBE) from the University of California, Berkeley.
Bill Mannina
Acting Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Finance
Mr. Bill Mannina joined the Company in September of 2016 and currently serves as the Acting Chief Financial Officer. Prior to this current role, he was the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller for the Company. Mr. Mannina has held senior finance roles in both startup and public technology companies. Mr. Mannina has extensive experience and training in many areas of accounting and finance, including the IPO process, mergers and acquisitions (including the accounting and subsequent integration), revenue accounting, and various forms of equity financing.
Previously, he was the Corporate Controller for Kana Software from 2008 to 2015. Prior to Kana Software, he was the Corporate Controller for Narus and ArcSight, the Assistant Controller at Symmetricom, and the Corporate Controller for Blaze Software. He was also a senior auditor at Mohler, Nixon & Williams (now part of Moss Adams), and began his career at Tandem Computers.
Mr. Mannina is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and holds a B.S. in Accounting, MBA and M.S. in Taxation from San Jose State University. Mr. Mannina also completed the Emerging CFO Leadership Program at the Stanford Graduate Business School.
Neeraj Sahejpal
Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development
Mr. Neeraj Sahejpal joined Energous in November 2014 and serves as the Company’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Mr Sahejpal is responsible for Corporate Strategy, Product Management and driving Customers and Strategic Partners engagements. Mr. Sahejpal joined Energous from Broadcom where he was Director of Product Marketing. From 2009 to 2014, while at Broadcom, Mr. Sahejpal helped seed and scale the Wireless Entertainment connectivity business. From 2005 to 2009, Mr. Sahejpal held a senior marketing position at PMC Sierra. Prior to that, Mr. Sahejpal co-founded a wireless startup and held senior positions in ASIC design while working for Inkra Networks, NVIDIA and Oak Technology. Mr. Sahejpal represents Energous on the board of Air Fuel Alliance (AFA) and is founding chair of the Uncoupled Working Committee (UWC) of AFA. Mr. Sahejpal received his Bachelor of Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India and both MSCE, MBA from Santa Clara University. Mr. Sahejpal has also completed the Executive Program in Strategic Marketing and Leadership at the Stanford Graduate Business School.
