George Paspalas
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Paspalas joined MAG October 2013. Formerly Mr. Paspalas was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Aurizon Mines; Chief Operating Officer, Silver Standard Resources Inc., and President and Chief Executive Officer of Placer Dome Africa among many operational and project development roles with Placer Dome. During his career, Mr. Paspalas has been responsible for constructing and operating complex open pit and underground mines in South Africa, Tanzania, Australia, South America and Canada. Mr. Paspalas earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 1984. Mr. Paspalas is also an independent Director of Pretivm Resources Inc. Mr. Paspalas is also an CGIC Accredited Director.
Dr. Peter K.M. Megaw
Consulting Geologist, President of IMDEX/Cascabel and Co-Founder of Minera Cascabel and MAG Silver
Dr. Megaw has 34 years involvement in Mexican geology and has become well-known in the Mexican Mining industry. His Ph.D. work at the University of Arizona was an exploration-focused geological/ geochemical study of the Santa Eulalia Ag-Pb-Zn District, Chihuahua and Carbonate Replacement Deposits (CRDs) in general. He has published extensively on CRDs and is a frequent speaker at international academic and technical symposia. His primary exploration foci are CRDs, Epithermal Vein Deposits and Porphyry Copper Deposits and he and his team are credited with the significant discoveries at Juanicipio-Fresnillo, Zacatecas; Platosa, Durango; and Cinco de Mayo-Pozo Seco, Chihuahua. He and his associates also put together the Mexican property portfolio now held by Revolution Resources Corp. and arranged the acquisition of X-Strata’s Latin American holdings by Linear Gold. Peter served on the Board of MAG Silver from 2005 to 2014, Candente Gold since 2009 and Minaurum Gold since 2010. Peter was awarded the Society of Mining Engineers 2012 Robert M. Dreyer Award for excellence in Applied Economic Geology and the Carnegie Mineralogical Medal for 2009.
